Congratulations to Hawk for winning Artist of the Month for May! He was voted in with his mini-room he titled "Moving In". He made this using found objects in the art room or crafting them himself with airdry clay. Pictured are the other students who were voted in for Artist of the Month from Iron Mountain, Florence, Norway, West Iron, Pembine, Kingsford, and Niagara schools.

The Spring Concert is coming up! Join us Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 PM in the High School gym to sing and play songs from around the campfire. Hope to see you there!

Wednesday, May 22, at 6:30 PM at the Pembine High School cafeteria there will be a mandatory sports meeting for all students planning to participate in sports during the 2024-25 school year. Athletes who will be in 6th -12th grade next year and their parents are asked to attend. Forms will be handed out and information will be provided about required physicals, and summer events, along with other sports information.

Today the Homestead class are the proud parents of 8 baby chicks (so far). The students have been learning how to brood chicks for the past few weeks and today is the day. They we so excited to see the chicks and learn how they have developed. They planted tomato and cucumber seeds for their gardens this summer. They also have replanted the aquaponics grower with peas. The interest the students have in learning is amazing. Great job homesteaders.

Several of our GAC students attended the 2nd Annual Construction Career Day 2024 held at the Blackwell Job Corps campus in Laona on Tuesday, April 30th. It was an interactive, hands-on day for our students who may be interested in exploring a career in architecture, construction, or related trade industries. Our students had the opportunity to meet and learn from journeypersons, union representatives, and employers to see what on the job training and apprenticeships they have to offer.

The CESA 8 Career and Life Ready Department & NWTC recently partnered to showcase Non-Traditional Occupations (NTO) Event at NWTC Aurora for local High School Sophomores and Juniors. Local businesses brought in: hands-on activities, gave demonstrations, and brought equipment for the students to practice with. Areas that students learned about were Health Services, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering, and support services from the Forward Services WIOA Program.

Mrs. Slawinski will be receiving the UW La Crosse 2024 Graduate Student Academic Achievement Award for contributions to education as a scholar & practitioner benefiting both the field of education and simultaneously her students at GAC. We are so lucky to have her at Goodman-Armstrong Creek!

PTO smelt fry was a great success!

The ASA show is coming up on Monday, April 15th. Public viewing of the art gallery is from 4 to 6 PM, followed by the awards presentation (parents and families of students who have their work in the show are encouraged to attend!). GAC has 6 students showing their art this year. Come to Kingsford High School (Middle School Gym) and view students' amazing work from this school year!

UWGB Senior and GAC Alumni, Sophia Wysocki, is awarded first place in the second annual Cofrin School of Business Art Competition. Sophia will graduate from UWGB with a major in both Business Administration and Studio Art in May 2024.

PROM is on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 at the Goodman Clubhouse from 7 pm to 10 pm! This dance is for GAC and Pembine high school students to celebrate the Class of 2025. Grand March and Crowning starts at 7:15 pm. Parents, family, and friends are invited to watch and take pictures till 8:15 pm. Please enter through the door on Main Street (GAC Elementary School side) for the Clubhouse.
